Transportation Laboratory

GENERAL INFORMATION

The main purpose of the laboratory is to constitute scientific research, training and casting centre with modern test and analysis devices for the research desired to be carried out in our universities, public institutions, and industry.

The Transportation Laboratory, which is planned to be structured and documented to carry out research and measurements in accordance with national and international criteria, increases the national and international project execution potential of our university by the combination of the Technopolis and university structure. In addition, it aims to meet the test and measurement demands of private and public institutions during the product development and production stages and to assist and pioneer both our university and other university researchers in scientific research.

EXPERIMENTS THAT CAN BE DONE IN THE LABORATORY

  • Soil classification tests
  • Aggregate tests
  • Asphalt, butum, cement and other additives tests
  • Mixture and pavement layers designs

While the laboratory is mainly used in postgraduate studies, it is used for IM 351 and IM 352 courses, elective courses and graduation projects too.

The use of the laboratory in all courses is done under the control of the laboratory supervisor. The students are informed by the laboratory staff about the tools and equipment used.
