Basic and Applied Research

Tests on asphalt, tests on aggregate, mix designs, applications of and tests on asphalt-aggregate combinations:

Specific gravity, penetration, ductility, flash and fire points, loss on heating, softening point, viscosity and float tests on tars, asphalts, cut backs, road oils, emulsions. Bitumen content, Marshall method, Centrifuge Kerosene Equivalent, repeated/ static, indirect tensile, creep and fatigue tests for mixtures, stripping, soundness and abrasion test on aggregates and CBR test on soils for highway construction.
